Increasingly the jobs in the agriculture sector such as farming, daily wage labour etc are becoming unreliable because of the uncertainty in rainfall and climate change. The forest produce is not accessible as the forest department is making it difficult for tribals to enter the forest and the government is evacuating adivasis from the forest. In the long term, it becomes essential that they integrate with the main economic stream and take up vocations that are available. This necessarily calls for certain levels of education and skills. Though the children are willing to complete schooling and go for higher studies, it is increasingly becoming expensive and putting a strain on the families. If the children are to study further and not drop-out, scholarships play very important role.
